The trip...

This trip is over. I've made it to places I haven't been to since I was a kid.
You don't really realize how much you miss the scenery of the Rocky Mountains until you see them again. Revisiting Fort Riley was super exciting, I'm glad I went alone because anyone else would have been bored to tears. BBQ ribs at a local place in Lyndon, KS was awesome. Pushing through Oklahoma was arduous but well worth it for the welcome I got at the rest area in Texas. Nice people there.
I'm very happy I saw Betsy for the first time in what seems forever. And there were trials in Texas, but the country is beautiful and I can understand the appeal of the wide open spaces. It really is beautiful country.

The thing is, I have finished this "trip", fully rushed on the first leg and tested on the second. It's just that I don't feel that the journey has ended.

There is more to come.

Since I'm stuck....

engine light came on just after i got on Interstate 10 so i had to stop in Junction, TX. oddly enough, i stayed at the Rodeway Inn and got room 118, the same number i got at the Rodeway in Cortez, CO.

So I've got some time to kill, I'm going to catch up on some picture posting.

Panoramics I simply keep forgetting to put up.

Waiting for a mechanic...

is just like what the doctor said to the midget with a cold, "ypu have to be a little patient."

Nostalgia

This is the train I used to play on as a kid

The most exciting day this trip!

The hospital where I was born and the Army Calvary museum. Owner of the gift show was so nice, we chatted for about half an hour.

I thought the old cribbage board (1820) was interesting.
